I will start with my training story tonight. It was rainy today. I usually get me weekday short runs in over my lunch hour but it was raining today so I didn't do it at lunch. The forecast was that the rain would end in the afternoon and my plan was to run after work. As the day wore on, of course my mind started to attempt to talk me out of it. My mind was trying to put it off till tomorrow and almost won until my friend Linda posted this on my facebook wall today:
This was my motivation today. I was so glad I put my shoes on and got out there after work for 3.44 blissful miles at an easy 10:19 pace for an overall time of 35:29 and a 329 calorie burn. It was very satisfying.
Now I'll move on to the rest of my day. I am battling a tooth ache right now. A cavity broke away but my benefits for this year are exhausted so I was trying to hold out until January. However, the ache is winning so I am gonna have to pay for a temporary filing until January when I can get the crown that it needs. So I called today and they can't get me in until tomorrow. Tooth pain and Kidney stones are the WORST pains in the world, in my opinion. So I have been a little off today already. Then this afternoon I was told that the project that I started 7 years ago is being discontinued. Even though I have not worked on that project for the last year, it was a serious blow to me. That project was my baby. Everything that I am today is someway connected to that project right down to how I met my husband. I am devastated! I don't feel like the new director tried very hard to keep that project going. A whole era is coming to an end and I am not sure if I will get past it. In some ways, the last 7 years have been the most important years of my life. The most personal and professional changes have been made in me in this time. I am trying to see this as the universe making room for something else but I would be lying if I said I wasn't scared to death.
